Oktoberfest Tampa

 

The festival of “gemütlichkeit” returns for the 6th Annual Oktoberfest Tampa event. For 3 full days, Tampa’s downtown Curtis Hixon Park will be transformed into the city’s largest, waterfront beer garden.

 

Here are 12 German phrases to ‘drop’ at Oktoberfest Tampa:

Prost!
Translation: Cheers!

Zum Wohl!
Translation: To your health!

Wo sind die Bierzelte?
Translation: Where are the beer tents?

Ist dieser Tisch frei?
Translation: Is this seat taken?

Das Essen schmeckt sehr gut. Was genau esse ich hier noch mal?
Translations: The food here is delicious. What am I eating again?

Mehr Bier, Bitte!
Translation: More beer, please!

Ist das ein Liter?
Translation: Is that a litre?

Wo finde ich die Toiletten?
Translation: Where can I find the toilet?

Pass auf, dass uns niemand den Tisch weg nimmt!
Translation: Make sure no one steals this table.

Ohje. Bitte keinen Alkohol mehr.
Translation: Oh God. Please, no more alcohol.

Lass uns das nächstes Jahr wiederholen.
Translation: Let’s do this again next year.

Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park – Downton Tampa |  October 9th, 10th, and 11th

Celebrating with german cheer, dancing and singing to cooler weather and colder beer along the Hillsborough river downtown at the Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park this Oktober 9th, 10th, and 11th. Oktoberfest Tampa 2015 is a time to unwind and make new friends. Learn new customs and sing a few songs. Help us tap the inaugural keg Friday, Oktober 9th, as we open the doors to Tampa’s largest Oktoberfest.
