The Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg Returns With A Roar
The downtown waterfront provides the perfect backdrop for the The Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg that kicks off today in downtown St. Petersburg. The Monaco-like setting brings three days of IndyCar racing excitement to race fans of all ages. Friday provides plenty of practice for Pro Mazada Indy Lights and the day ends with a 5K Run where runners and walkers can experience every curve and straightaway of the track. Saturday continues with qualifying sessions for the drivers in all series and a special Verizon IndyCar Series Autograph Session at 2:15 p.m. There is a also a fun family section complete with kid friendly games, face painting, rides and more. Sunday is filled with races concerts and air shows and the main event, Verizon IndyCar Series Grand Prix of St. Petersburg, that will be aired at 3:30 p.m. Sunday live on ABC.
