METRO SPONSORED EVENT:
Tampa Bay Heart Ball 2016
Saturday, April 30, 2016
Tampa Marriott Waterside Hotel
On Saturday, April 30, 650 people gathered in downtown Tampa for the 58th annual Tampa Bay Heart Ball, emceed by WFLA News Channel 8 Anchor, Stacie Schaible.
Themed “Think Smart From the Heart,” the event was chaired by Trey Traviesa, CEO of Fort Brooke Merchant Partners, LLC, and his wife Nina. The festive night included world-class silent and live auctions; live entertainment by the Aerial Dragons; a colorful, heart-healthy dinner; an inspiring testimony of local teen, Charlie Curtis, who survived cardiac arrest; the debut of the 2017 Red Sofa Tour sponsored by Ashley HomeStore; and the first-ever after-party with music by DJ Bash.
Senator Aaron Bean, masterfully led the live auction which raised $175,000. The highest bid — and the largest live auction donation in the Tampa Heart Ball history — was $55,000 for a one-week stay at an exquisite Italian villa, donated by Jarrett and Veturia Preston on behalf of Obsidian International. Tom and Lauren Pepin donated two one-week Mediterranean mega-yacht cruiser experiences, which each went for $19,000.
The Tampa Bay Heart Ball raised more than $1.3 million, making it the most successful to date and one of the Top 10 American Heart Association galas in the nation. The incoming Heart Ball chairs are Allen Brinkman – Chairman, President and CEO of SunTrust Bank’s West Florida Division – and Julie Brinkman.
Tampa Bay METRO was a proud sponsor of this event.
