2018 Children Across Borders Cricket Cup
When: January 21, 2018
Where: George M. Steinbrenner Field
The 2018 CAB Cricket Cup, hosted by Children Across Borders founders Vivek and Sharmila Seth, was an afternoon of fun and games.
The fundraiser was advertised as “An Afternoon of Cricket and Family Fun” to the local non-profit’s supporters in the Tampa Bay area. Ladies were encouraged to wear all white and hats, while men and children were to wear all-white sporting attire.
Amid the professional cricket league’s instruction to those unfamiliar with the classic English sport, gourmet British/Indian cuisine and specialty cocktails were served to the nearly 150 patrons in a room of tables, adorned with vintage teapots full of orange and green flowers.
A silent auction table filled with fabulous prizes and priceless experiences, excited the Tampa crowd dressed in all white ensembles, along with the hopes of winning the 50/50 raffle cash prize; both of which counted for thousands of dollars raised for the Tampa-based non-profit.
The 2018 CAB Cricket Cup is one of two major fundraisers Children Across Borders hosts biennially. 2019 will hold the black-tie affair, Bollywood Nights, at the Tampa Museum of Art.
