Gasparilla Events in Tampa

2019 Preview of Gasparilla Events

The Gasparilla Pirate Festival has been held in Tampa since 1904. Each year in late January or early February, the celebration organized by Ye Mystic Krewe of Gasparilla and the City of Tampa brings out tens of thousands of people to celebrate. The festival is dedicated to the legend of captain José Gaspar (Gasparilla), a Spanish pirate who operated in Southwest Florida. With a few lapses back between 1907 – 1909 and then in 1918-1919, the party and celebration continues today.

METRO has gathered a round-up of Gasparilla Events that we are sure that you will want to experience. From the Children’s Parade to the Main Flotilla Invasion, the events extend into March 2019 with the annual Gasparilla Music Festival and the Gasparilla International Film Festival.
