For over 14 years, Seventh Avenue Apothecary has transformed the art of home fragrance into a sophisticated lifestyle experience. Founded in 2012 by a mother-daughter team of Phala Pesano and Jessica Reisner with deep Tampa roots, the female and family-owned company has grown from hand-pouring candles locally into a nationally recognized luxury fragrance brand.

Inspired by Tampa Bay’s coastal beauty, historic charm and effortless elegance, Seventh Avenue Apothecary is known for artisan candles, reed diffusers, room sprays and apothecary-inspired products designed to create warmth, ambiance and connection within the home. For Tampa Bay METRO’s Home + Design issue, the team shares how fragrance has become an essential layer of modern living and entertaining.

Seventh Avenue ApothecaryMETRO: What inspired the creation of Seventh Avenue Apothecary?

Jessica Reisner: We wanted to create home fragrance products that felt luxurious, yet deeply personal. Scent has the power to completely transform how a space feels emotionally, and we loved the idea of helping people create meaningful experiences at home. Tampa’s warmth, coastal lifestyle and historic character heavily influenced our aesthetic and identity.

METRO: How do you approach creating fragrances for the home?

Reisner: We think about fragrance the same way an interior designer considers texture, lighting or color. A scent should enhance a room without overwhelming it. We focus on layered, sophisticated fragrance profiles that feel elevated, welcoming and timeless.

Seventh Avenue ApothecaryMETRO: Which fragrance has resonated most with customers?

Reisner: Ocean Mist + Moss continues to be a favorite. Inspired by growing up around Florida’s waterways, it captures the feeling of salt air, coastal greenery and peaceful relaxation. Customers connect with the nostalgia and calming escape it brings into their homes.

Seventh Avenue ApothecaryMETRO: What trends are you seeing this season?

Reisner: People are creating homes that feel intentional, cozy and layered. Clean luxury fragrances featuring woods, herbs, citrus, greens and soft florals are especially popular, along with design-forward pieces that double as décor while elevating entertaining spaces.
