Cultivating Creativity
George Harrison: A Gardener’s Life

Exploration leads to growth in a lot of ways. Growth, you can find at Selby Gardens as they proudly present the ninth installment of their annual Jean & Alfred Goldstein Exhibition Series. The work of major artists through the lens of their connection with nature is apparent throughout these educational exhibitions. On view until June 29, 2025, this is surely a must see as a famed musician and gardening coincide, inspiring a memorable experience.

George Harrison, popular guitarist for The Beatles implored the art of gardening as it was an integral part of his identity. Once describing himself as “just a gardener” really shows how much Harrison truly appreciated the craft. He utilized a free approach to gardening that combined creativity, spontaneity, whimsy, humor and joy. While this may have played a role in his artistry as a musician, Harrison truly thrived off his love of gardening.
