Meet Artist Britt Ford

Influenced by the colorful hues of her mother and grandmother, who decorated their homes in bright colors of pinks, greens, blues and golds, artist Britt Ford takes influence from them, and has created artistic expressions of her own with colorful pieces of wall art, stationery items, murals and more.

Britt and her husband moved to Tampa in 2020 after  living in Hoboken, NJ for 10 years where she was also influenced by historical buildings and brownstones, and the proximity to New York City. The self-taught artist has fallen in love with Hyde Park in Tampa. “I instantly fell in love with the area because it reminded me of New Jersey with the historical homes, but had a mix of Floridan architecture and bungalows,” said Britt Ford. “Tampa has provided me with so much growth and exploration, I feel my artwork has become more bright, exuberant and fun. I’m truly inspired by my surroundings, be it historical buildings/homes, flowers and fauna and local culture.”

Artist Britt FordExploring Tampa, Ford has a few favorite places. “My favorite restaurants are On Swann (best kale salad ever) and Ulele,” said Ford. “We also go to Gin Joint and Marriott Water Street with friends for cocktails.” The Four Green Fields reminds her and her husband, of their favorite Irish Bar in Hoboken, Finnegans. On the weekends, Ford adds, “We tend to walk around Hyde Park Village with our dog, and then go out on the boat and cruise around Tampa and St. Pete with friends.”

The Britt Ford Pop Up Gallery in Hyde Park opened in mid-September and will be open through February 28, 2022. The gallery is open daily and will be hosting fun Sip & Shops during the holiday season. Stop by for some cocktails, light bites and of course, the perfect artful gift for the season.
