Pivoting in this time of the COVID-19 crisis is one that many businesses are trying to do to stay in business and keep employees on the payroll. The Epicurean Hotel in south Tampa has opened a gourmet market to assist the community and will offer curbside pick up of essentials and some specialty menu items.
“We’re happy to provide the Gourmet Market To Go option during this crisis because it’s meeting a real need and keeping people employed, while helping protect the health of our employees and the community,” said Joe Collier, President of Mainsail Lodging & Development. “Hopefully it will relieve some stress by giving people an easy way to get household staples, along with the makings for a fun, creative meal at home.”

There will be several house-made specialties on the menu, including chicken and turkey sausage, smoked fish dip and tuna, pasta and potato salads. Made-from-scratch sauces and spices such as shawarma spice, tamarind jus, caramelized onions, chicken wing rub and Alabama spice sauce provide a welcome addition to any home-cooked meal. A variety of items including Delmonico steaks, shaved ribeye, seasoned chicken wings, jumbo lump crab and smoked salmon will also be available. Don’t forget the best part of any meal – dessert – with a selection of B&G’s Little Midway Ice Cream available by the pint.

The service will also provide dairy products such as milk and select cheeses; frozen and fresh vegetables; and shelf staples such as pasta, beans and rice. Paper and plastic items such as toilet paper, soap and sanitizers will also be sold (subject to availability).
An extensive beer, wine, spirits and beverage list is also available, as well as some house-made concoctions, including Epic Whiskey Blend, Epic Bloody Mary mix and Port Barrel Reposado Corazon Tequila.
It’s as simple as reviewing the online menu and calling to place the oder. Once the order is received, a specific pick-up time will be given. Upon arrival for pick-up, simply call again and a gloved employee will bring the order to the car.
